Decks or patios can be constructed of various materials, depending on several factors such as the height above ground and what is underneath. Decking options include concrete, wood, composite decking, or vinyl. If your deck is above living space or otherwise needs to be kept dry underneath, then your best option is vinyl decking. Technically known as pedestrian roofing, vinyl decking is a certified roofing material, designed to be walked on. There are many brands available, but Duradek is the most commonly known one. Vinyl decking will shed water as a roof does, therefore it is important that the deck is sloped correctly.
